Hospitality BP-71

To design an accommodation center for approximately 1500 people (for the Cultural Center).

Concept : The design concept for the accommodation center was based on contextual regionalism. Right from the orientation of the building to the Massing & Voids created – all added to the design features of the structure. The floors were added to make up for the voids in the structure while keeping in mind the Shading and views. The views were maximized to the north of the site. The occupant comfort was of utmost importance and hence a Double skin facade was designed for it. The landscape areas, the atriums, balconies, terraces & Interactive green spaces keep a check on the Air quality & Thermal comfort on the site.

Core Design Concept

Climate

Climate of a region plays a very important role in our designs. Weather and climate are primary factors that affect any region and hence, are important to design spaces that have better indoor thermal conditions.

Culture

The culture of a region is another key determinant of our architectural designs. It is the way people live and function in a city or space that defines the use and style of how the space should look and feel like.

Context

Critical Regionalism' or context is the process of design which accommodates climatic and social factors of the region where the building is to be constructed. The overall context of what surrounds the structure to be built.
